Hello

The center is here to help the female youth, which helping young ladies has always been a passion of mine. It really began to become a push when I began to work in the education field.

My Story

Dionia J Lucas is a passionate educator, coach, and ordained minister who is deeply
committed to empowering youth, particularly those from challenging backgrounds. With three
years of experience in secondary education, Dionia served as the Head Physical Education
Teacher and Assistant Athletic Director, coaching basketball and volleyball for six years, and
assisting with track. These roles have allowed Dionia to foster the growth and development of
student-athletes both on and off the field.
Before entering education, Dionia worked in the field of criminal justice as a detention officer
and probation and parole officer. However, after realizing the impact she could have on youth,
Dionia transitioned to the educational field to stop students from entering the criminal justice
system in the first place. This shift has driven Dionia to focus on mentorship and guiding young
people toward success and positive life choices.
Dionia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina Central University and is
currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Rhema Theological Seminary School. As an ordained
minister at Victory Cathedral Worship Center in Durham, NC, Dionia incorporates faith into
every aspect of their work, striving to lead others with compassion, integrity, and love.
Raised in Selma, NC, Dionia is the oldest of six children on their mother’s side and seven on
their father’s, as well as the eldest granddaughter of 15 grandchildren on her mother’s side.
Dionia cherishes family, and this strong foundation is reflected in her role as a loving wife to
Dominique Blackwell, a devoted Godmother to McKenzie Baldwin, and a second mom to many,
including being a mentor to numerous youth.
A former trumpet and euphonium player in the Marching Sound Machine, Dionia blends
leadership, discipline, and teamwork into their approach to education and mentoring.
In addition to these roles, Dionia is the founder of ExaltHER, an initiative created to empower
minority youth by helping them recognize their worth and put God first. With a passion for
mentoring and coaching, Dionia works tirelessly to guide those who are battling hardships and
difficult upbringings, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to overcome challenges
and realize their full potential.
